Alycia Willford
As a 7th grader, Alycia is the newest member of the Design FC Academy. She has previously served as Junior Coach Program where she mentored younger students in the program.
In 2024, Alycia was selected to represent Design FC and Chester as a design leader for the first ever Design FC Youth Creative Collective project, where she worked with youth around the world to design a collaborative jersey.
Alycia will continue to build her creative skills as part of the Academy Program, and explore her love for basketball, painting, and design.
In May 2024, Alycia was selected to travel to NYC on an experiential learning trip to NYC, where she met with industry leaders at the WNBA/NBA, Google, and Girls Who Code.
2023 Jersey
I was in summer school and for one the activities I learned to play chess, and ever since I really like it. Chess is something you have to think about and you have to get creative with, and you have to think hard to win. On the back of my jersey I have the Earth and a pencil writing “do your best.” I wrote “do your best” because that’s something I’d say to someone and I have the Earth because that’s the planet I’m living on!
